Parisian Love

Love is a bit of an understatement. I am utterly obsessed with all things French. Today when I turned on the TV, the movie Julie & Julia was playing. It was on the scene where Julia Child was living in Paris and talking to her husband about how Americans deserve to have food like the French do. I completely agree. So today I amped up my afternoon snack and made it a little more French.

I put my black and white striped table cloth on and got out my sweet little vintage teacup to put my Greek err.. European yogurt in. I topped it off with honey, chocolate chips, and shredded coconut. Simply delightful.

Now I’m dreaming of the streets of Paris and want nothing more than to go back. I went for 2 weeks in high school and got the full “tourist” tour of the chateaus and sites but I would love the opportunity to go back for a longer trip to live more like a local, spend more time shopping, and basically just gorge myself in these beauties:

So this week I’m going to ride the French wave and do some postings devoted to all things French. I will of course consult with my personal assistant, Rosie, before I make any postings to make sure she fully approves. Oui, oui madame.

Do you have a love for another country or culture? What do you love about it?

  1. My love for other countries varies, but when I do have one, I obsess over it. Not only do I integrate the style into my interior design and dress, but I read books on the culture, listen to music, learn about the history, watch movies and plan a trip there (usually I cannot afford to, though, but I have a plan…)
My last obsession was Sweden and swedish interior design. I like the cleanliness and straightness of it. Besides I love IKEA and I worked at H&M. I was their most well-informed employee I think. 🙂
Well, currently I am just obsessed with DIY-Furniture, thanks to Pinterest.

    1. Hi Nathalia,

I’m the same way about wanting to learn everything I can about a culture. So far I have really only learned a lot about the French culture and lifestyle but recently I have been fascinated with Europe in general! I LOVE DIY-furniture too! If you’re interested, you can follow me on Pinterest at: Pinterest.com/enchantingpins (I have a whole furniture-DIY board). If you want to leave your Pinterest address I’ll follow you back 🙂

      Have an enchanting day,
      Natalie

  2. I caught a comment you made on the Lauren Conrad site, so I thought I’d check out your blog, I love it! I find myself becoming more and more obsessed with all things French too, after all my maiden name and married last name are both French, so why not? You seem to share my interests in fashion, food, and decorating on a budget, but I have three little ones, so being able to live a bit vicariously through you works out great for me 🙂 I just made your crepe recipe for my ladies and they loved them, I am eagerly anticipating future blogs <3

    1. Hi Crystal!
Thank you so much for stopping by and for your sweet comment! A fellow admirer of French things is always welcome 😉 I’m so glad your girls enjoyed the crepes recipe! Did you all have a favorite crepe topping?

Hope you have an enchanting day,
      Natalie
